Created by Lloyd Blitzer, Rhetorical situation has three main components: Subject, composer, and audience. When writing there is no true order that writers pick to use these techniques in writing but all writers use these components as a set up for writing.
Audience is is the writing is for. Subject is the content which can also be the issue, and composer is who is writing and the stance of the writer and what constraints does the writer face.
